Drugs to Cure Tinnitus
5 Drugs That Help Tinnitus
There are several drugs that help tinnitus but none have been clinically proven to affect a complete cure. These drugsmay relieve the symptoms of tinnitus for a period but often times the symptoms return to their normal state. In fact the medical profession more or less recognize that there isn’t yet a proven medical cure for tinnitus. This is worrying because millions of people suffer the effects of tinnitus, some not so severely, some severely and some very severely indeed. Many are left with depression, anxiety, stress, lack of regular sleep, inability to focus, and, many more issues that seriously affect their lives and relationships. That’s why there are many studies going on lookingfor drugs that help tinnitus.
The causes of tinnitus aremainly associated with noise damage to the ear, inner ear / auditory nerve damage, head trauma, whiplash, stress, allergies, meniere’s disease, eustachian tube blockage, and, otosclerosis (middle ear bone stiffening). So you seethattinnitus is a symptom of these underlying causes.
The sounds of tinnitus heard by a sufferer vary, and, have been described as ringing, whistling, hissing, whooshing, ticking, clicking, and other sounds. Each individual is different, but, the common issue is that these sounds are symptoms of one or other of the underlying conditions mentioned above.
Sufferers seeking medical help may be treated through drugs, and, 5 drugs that help tinnitus, or, at least they are believed to give some limited relief are:-
1. Antidepressants (such as Xanax)
2. Antihistamines(used for controlling allergies)
3. Anticonvulsants (used to control epileptic seizures)
4. Cardiovascular (for increasing / controlling blood flow)
5. Intravenous Lidocaine (local anesthetic, and, topically to relieve itching, burning, skin inflammation)
As well as these 5 drugs that help tinnitus there are other treatments such as tinnitus maskers and hearing aids, which by using external sounds try to mask, or, manipulate the tinnitus sounds levels so that the patient’s tinnitus seems less. There are also complimentary remedies such as yoga, meditation, acupuncture, hypnosis, etc. The problem with the whole range of treatments on offer is that it is believed that around 93% of tinnitus sufferers never achieve relief from the symptoms of tinnitus.
So that in the absence of any medical certainty, many people are now looking at natural, or, home-remedy treatments which revolve around a more holistic approach to a cure. And these seem to be returning interesting results, with many tinnitus sufferers reporting that their tinnitus has either gone away, or,has beensignificantly reduced.
One tinnitus researcher, in particular, has carried out tests on tinnitus sufferers using 11 techniques that hedevelopedduring a 2 year study. His resultsseem very encouraging, with 80% of subjects saying that their symptoms had either stopped or drastically reduced, and, 20% reporting a slight improvement with ringing noises occurring less frequently. If this is true then this compares extremely favourably withmainstream treatments. He now offers this program to tinnitus sufferers around the world who just downloadthe programstraight to their computer, then, work on their cureat home, office or workplace.
